A memorable and amazing experience, Les Misérables,
January 25, 2003
      “Now bring me prisoner 24601…..”

On January 25, 77 alumni gathered at the Imperial Theatre in New York for the matinee performance of Les Misérables. Immersed among a sold out audience, alumni from various class years waited in anticipation for the curtain to rise. In the opening scene, prisoner 24601 is released from prison by Javert, played by Muhlenberg alumnus David Masenheimer ‘81, to start his life anew. The audience sat mesmerized by the music and talents of the actors and actresses. In the end, some sat filled with tears, but everyone left with emotional fulfillment from the performance of this amazing cast.

Thanks to David, our alumni theater-goers received a rare opportunity to meet the cast after the show. The cast answered questions and provided insight to what goes on behind the scenes. After the talkback, David joined us in the lobby for autographs and photos. The alumni in the audience commented, “It was truly a memorable and
amazing experience.”

Winter Reception,
February 1, 2003

With more than 400 guests, including alumni, faculty and staff, student athletes, parents, friends and local officials, the 2003 Winter Reception hosted by Pat Brennan ’67 was a tremendous success. The reception took place in the Solar Corridor of the Life Sports Center, after a full day of athletic events including a wrestling match against Washington & Lee, and women's and men's basketball games against McDaniel (formerly Western Maryland). Many thanks to Pat for hosting a wonderful celebration for Muhlenberg!
