| ’78 |Josefina Brutvan writes, “This has been a busy year for me. I continue to do translations and private tutoring for school students and adults. After living in Florida for 16 years, I went up to the Appalachian/Pocono Mountain area and my old prep school, Blair Academy, for my 30th reunion. My older son, Tommy, just graduated from Florida State University with a degree in exercise science and is trying to decide whether to go to physical therapy school or medical school. My younger son, Alex, is a junior at the University of Miami where he runs cross country and track.”

Captain Charles M. Lilli ’80

| ’80 |The Navy announced that Captain Charles M. Lilli, Supply Corps, has been nominated for promotion to the rank of rear admiral (lower half). He is currently assigned as chief of staff, Naval Supply System Command Headquarters located at the NAVSUP Headquarters, Mechanicsburg, Pa.

| ’82 |After a layoff and job search, Rebecca (Belk) Clemmer has found a new job with Indian-based company United Phosphorus. She and husband David enjoy parenting children Melinda, 14, Paul, 11, and Jesse, 5.

| ’84 |Susan Whittier has returned to New York City to direct the microbiology laboratory at Columbia University Medical Center. She and her two children, Eric, 8, and Amy, 7, still live in Edison, N.J. They see Jim Betoni and his family all the time, whether it’s in Colorado Springs where Jim lives, or Sea Isle, N.J., for family vacations.

Kenneth S. Spiegelman ’88

| ’88 |Dimond Kaplan & Rothstein, P.A., an AV-rated boutique litigation firm, is pleased to announce that Kenneth S. Spiegelman, an AV-rated, board certified civil trial lawyer, has joined the firm as a member. A frequent speaker and published author, Spiegelman is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the Dade Country Trial Lawyers Association. In 2002, he was awarded the F. Scott Baldwin Award by the Association of Trial Lawyers of America as the Most Outstanding Young Trial Lawyer of the Year. Last year, he was named one of South Florida’s top “Up & Coming” lawyers by the South Florida Legal Guide. Most recently, he was a guest speaker on an episode of the Dr. Phil television show in an episode focusing on a nanny’s physical abuse of an infant and a law suit filed seeking compensation for the infant’s injuries. This summer, Spiegelman will be a featured speaker at the Association of Trial Lawyers of America’s 2005 annual meeting, where he will present on “Trying Your First Case.”

| ’90 |Veronica Alweiss recently received her master of arts in spiritual psychology from the University of Santa Monica and is a life coach in Beverly Hills, Calif. The essence of her work is assisting others to connect with their dreams and creating a plan to achieve them. In addition to individual coaching, Veronica facilitates group workshops and leads retreat excursions in the United States and Mexico. Her web address is Mary (Lokerson) Rusten writes, “In recent years I have been working as the director of membership for the National Insulation Association. In 2000, I met Michael Rusten, an Australian Naval Officer who was posted to Washington, D.C. We lived in Old Town Alexandria and traveled extensively through the United States and Europe. In 2002, we married and honeymooned in the Caribbean, Luxembourg, Singapore and Australia, before returning to Virginia. Our son Matthew was born in January 2004, and I changed careers to being a full-time Mum and part-time consultant.” Michael and Michelle (Sager) Gracey were married on August 22, 2004. Michelle’s daughters, Abigail, 7, and Olivia, 6, served as flower girls. Alumni in attendance included Christina (Rimer) Morgan, Blair (Foster) Drewell and Dina (Anderson) Chase. Of the 135 wedding guests, 46 were children. The Graceys are happily living in Newburyport, Mass.
