Carrianne (Uszenski) '96 and Bret Kaplan '96
'96   Muhlenberg sweethearts Rosanne Bock and Chris Keep happily announce their engagement. Rosanne recently graduated from Beaver College with a master of science in genetic counseling and is currently working at Capital Health System in Trenton, N.J. Chris graduated from Binghamton University with a master's degree in accounting and is employed by Hegar & Crawford, C.P.A.s, in Haddonfield, N.J. He took the C.P.A. exam in November. Eve DeVaro received a master of arts in philosophy with a focus in bioethics from the University of Toronto in 1999. Currently, she is a college marketing manager with Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group, Lanham, Md. On June 11, Elyssa Deutsch married Brian Goldenfarb. Elyssa is a physical therapy assistant in Hackensack, N.J., and is pursuing a master's degree in physical therapy at Neumann College. Brian is an attorney in New Brunswick, N.J. Melissa Guenther-Gorla and her husband, Joe, are pleased to announce the Aug. 26 birth of their son, Joseph Mario III. Melissa graduated from Villanova University with her master of arts degree in educational leadership in May and is currently on leave from her position as a German teacher with the Perkiomen Valley School District, Collegeville, Pa. If all goes well, Cari Herrmann plans to graduate in May from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with her doctorate in chemistry. Cari will marry Tony Abell on May 5. Many Muhlenberg alumni gathered to celebrate the wedding of Brian Hoshaw and Rachel Braun '97. The following alumni were part of the wedding party: Kelly Sayre, Anne (Carofino) Hunt '97, Saadia Khan '97, Jennifer (Klinger) LaCava '97, Michelle Reuter '97, Kevin Collins, Darren Vaniskhian and Shannon Gary '97. Other alumni in attendance were: Chris and Megan (Kidd) Watson, Chris LaCava, Marc Weinstein, Liz (Moskaluk) Collins '94, Stephanie Turri '97, Heather Brown '98 and Brian Dunfee '98. On July 21, 2000, a relationship that began on the first day of freshman year in Prosser Hall reached its culmination as Carrianne Uszenski married Bret Kaplan. Alumni in the wedding were best man Andrew Kaplan, groomsmen Steve Standing and Brian Shave and bridesmaids Jamie Kaplan '99, Nina Federoff and Melissa Beblavy. Other Muhlenberg alumni in attendance included Joe Gulotta, Heather Huestis, Lacey Lockward, Molly Newman, Scott Smolensky, Danielle Wilson, Howard Hymowitz '95, Scott '95 and Julie (Boulanger) '95 Spoerl, Tracy Huntley '98, and Joe Morris '99. Carrianne teaches eighth-grade math in Woodbridge, N.J.; Bret is a land-use attorney and a civil litigation attorney with the law firm of DiFransesco, Kunzman, Coley, Yuspin, Bernstein and Bateman in Warren, N.J. The couple reside in Franklin, N.J.
Shannon Loring became engaged to Don Mott on Aug. 14, and they are planning a June 30, 2001, wedding in Massachusetts. After the wedding, Shannon will leave her job as director of the annual fund and alumni affairs at the Tilton School in New Hampshire to move to the Peddie School in New Jersey.

The following alumni participated in or attended the Sept. 18, 1999, wedding of Alexis Tenedine to Adam Kasowitz '97: Brooke Myers, John Sorger, Heather Stahlnecker, Laura Zirkle, Jim Burger '97, Nicole Carp '97, Ryan Carter '97, Seth Cohen '97, Allison Cornish '97, Eric Hemingway '97, Joseph Price '97, Chris Quinn, '97, Sage Rega '97, Patrick Wegeler '97, Lynne Weiner '97, Scott Zillitto, '97, Jarett Emert '98, Craig Lazerowich '98, Jeremy Rosner '98, Adam Theriault '98 and Monica Lyons '99. The couple live in Stamford, Conn., where Alexis is a brand manager at Corporate Branding, a brand leveraging consulting firm, and Adam is a senior auditor at Arthur Andersen, L.L.P. Rachel Weiss is engaged to Lee Handis, and they are planning a July 2001 wedding. Rachel is a first-grade teacher in Woodbury Heights, N.J. She recently received her master's in reading from West Chester University. Christine (Pantazopoulos) Coulouras and Dana (Glaser) Werner will be bridesmaids.

Five Muhlenberg alumni were among the 244 students who were awarded the doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) in June. PCOM is the largest of the nation's 19 osteopathic medical colleges and the fifth-largest medical school in the country. For a century, PCOM has trained osteopathic physicians, those who treat a patient's body, lifestyle and behavior as a whole.
