'97 Allison Arthur has begun work toward a master's degree in environmental education at Antioch New England in Keene, N.H. Serving as program coordinator, James Burger is with the Electronic Publishing Initiative at Columbia (EPIC). In addition, the Brooklyn, N.Y., resident is assistant to the editor for social sciences at Columbia University Press, contributing editor to Columbia Earthscape (www.earthscape.org) and author of a forthcoming six-book children's series on the United States' westward expansion. Eventually, he hopes to have only one job title...of his choosing. Renee Cafaro is pursuing a master's degree in speech and language pathology at Temple University. Roseanne DeFronzo received her master's degree from Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, en route to her doctorate in clinical psychology. Ali Del Vecchio graduated from Fairfield University in May with a master's degree in school counseling. She is a high school guidance counselor at Fairfield (Conn.) High School and lives in Milford, Conn.
Ann Marie Gagis '97 and Marco Schumann
Planning an Oct. 14, 2001, wedding are Ann Marie Gagis and Marco Schumann, who attended Muhlenberg as a German exchange student in 1996-97. Ann Marie is a senior product manager at Boron LePore & Associates, a pharmaceutical marketing and consulting company in Fair Lawn, N.J. Marco, who received his master of arts in 1998 at Potsdam University of Germany in political science and international relations, is an account director for Preventive Plus, an occupational health-care clinic in Paramus, N.J. In May, Alison McKenzie Kenny received a juris doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, graduating magna cum laude. She was a member of the Order of the Coif and a research editor for the Law Review. On May 26, Shannon Messina and Chad Lore were married in Summit, N.J., and the following 'Berg alumni attended or participated: Courtenay Cooper, Lori Davis, Suzanne Fabel, Lisa McGahen Formicola, Rebeca Lohr, Tori Wardell, Michael Pisano '95, Sharon Aiello '98, Danielle Russo '98, Brian Fanning '99, Jimmy Murray '99. After a honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple are living in Hoboken, N.J. Shannon is a nutrition and weight loss consultant; Chad is a program sales trader for Lehman Brothers.
Michael Scholtes '97
In June, Michael Scholtes was among 40 candidates to receive a master of divinity degree from The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. Michael, a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, St. John's, Pa., is engaged to Heather Painter; they are planning an October 2001 wedding. On July 3, Madeline Stoopak married Andrew Brown, lieutenant junior grade, U.S. Navy, at the Manor in West Orange, N.J. Roseanne DeFronzo was maid of honor. Madeline has just received tenure in the Parsippany-Troy Hills School District and is currently teaching fourth grade. She is pursuing a master of education degree at Montclair State University. Andy, a 1997 Annapolis graduate, is currently an engineering officer on the U.S.S. Seattle, stationed out of Naval Weapons Station Earle, Middletown, N.J. The Browns live in Montville, N.J.

Jennifer Solomon and Timothy Switaj '98 were married in August 1999. Tim is enjoying his rotations, which are a part of his third year of medical school. Jennifer works in litigation with Patton Boggs, L.L.P., Washington, D.C., and loves every minute of it. The Germantown, Md., residents are expecting their first child in January. In May, Washington, D.C., resident Paul Tyler graduated from American University's Washington College of Law. He is working at Gromfine & Taylor, P.C., a firm that concentrates on labor law. Currently, Paul is organizing a union for physical, occupational, speech and other therapists, the first such therapist-only union in the country.
'98 In her second year at Cook School in Plainfield, N.J., Sara Bednar is teaching a combined second- and third-grade class. On Aug. 15, Nicole Carmean accepted Dan Jacobs' marriage proposal. They are planning a summer 2002 wedding in Pamplona, Spain. Happily ever after has begun for Cindy Gutierrez and Pietro Fasolino following their July 22 Cinderella wedding in Mamaroneck, N.Y. Alumni in attendance included Denise Diorio '98, Amy Moeller '98, Danielle Russo '98, MaryJane (Silfies) Whyte '98, Jessica Gerson '00, Lauren Marra '00 and George Wagenhoffer '00. Cindy is a sales support representative for Nextel Communications in New York. The newlyweds live in New Rochelle, N.Y.

The Rev. John Krivak was the celebrant at the June 17 wedding of 2nd Lt. Jason Lanham and Irene Dickinson in Lindenwold, N.J. Alumni Brian Fishbone and Christy Rudderow attended. Jason is attending the Medical College of Philadelphia-Hahnemann University. Alan N. Leipsner recently received his master's in public health from the Medical College of Philadelphia-Hahnemann University. He and wife Abby (Ingber) recently relocated to Wayne, N.J., as Abby is working for the Metrowest JCC, and Alan is working for Hackensack University Medical Center. Barry Levy and Khara Pappadakis '99 got engaged May 6 in Paradise Island, Bahamas, and are planning their May 19, 2001, wedding on a bed-and-breakfast farm in Jobstown, N.J. The development coordinator for Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Kati Mann is studying for her M.B.A. in hospitality administration at Johnson and Wales University in Providence. Melissa Osorio recently began working in custom publishing for The Parenting Group, a division of Time Inc., in New York City. She moved to northern New Jersey in March; one of her roommates is alumna Andrea Colettis, who is in her third year of teaching Spanish. In a promotion, Baldwin N.Y., resident Brian Teta has been named senior associate producer of "The Montel Williams Show."
