| ’97 | Laura (Heinz) and Daniel Beck were married on August 31, 2002 at Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township, N.J. Marius Ged was a member of the bridal party. Other Mules at the wedding were Brian LaFortune, Robert Muntz ’96, Brian Jenkins, Adam Matteo and Greg Steinman. Allison Cornish recently moved to Hoboken, N.J., from Denver, Colo., with fellow alum Nicole Carp. Allison is working as a psychologist in the psychology emergency room at Jersey City Medical Center, where she performs assessments, evaluations and consultations for the mental health patients. Mark W. Cunningham has been quite active since graduation. From 1998 to 2000, he served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Romania, where he taught English as a second language to grades K-8. Following his Peace Corps service, Mark attended the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary and earned his master’s degree in gender and culture in 2001. He is currently working for the Schuylkill River Greenway Association in Pottstown, Pa. Mark and his wife, Franciska Cunningham-Epli live in Boyertown, Pa. Amy (Crane) Decker “seams” to be quite busy lately. She is the owner of A & K Boutique, specializing in women’s designer clothing resale, which opened in Bethlehem this June. By the time this issue of the magazine reaches you, she and her husband Kirk, a firefighter for the city of Bethlehem, should have welcomed their first child. Heather (Harlen) Dopkin is a language arts instructor at a very small alternative high school for at-risk students and would love to help out anyone who is interested in teaching. She lives in Arlington, Va. with her husband Mike and works in Vienna, Va. On Aug. 17, 2002 at Holy Ghost Church in Bethlehem, Pa., Adam Matteo married Dawn Golden. Adam is currently working in Allentown for the public accounting firm of Deloitte and Touche as an audit manager. His bride is employed by Agere Systems in Allentown as an accounting policy manager. Other Muhlenberg alumni in attendance at their wedding included: Donald Rosenberger ’82, Robert Muntz ’96, Daniel Beck, Laura Heinz, Brian Jenkins, Greg Steinman, Steve Faella ’98, Erik Skinner ’98, Stephanie Stevens ’98, Kristin George ’01 and Zachary Zeitner ’01. After a summer engagement, Lynne Weiner is planning a July 2003 wedding in Philadelphia to Brad Wilkins. She is teaching sixth grade at McKinley Elementary School in Abington, Pa. Among the bridesmaids will be Allison Cornish, Jennifer Zwirn ’99 and Nicole Carp as the maid of honor. Lynne met Brad in 1998, while teaching at the same elementary school. A graduate of Lock Haven University, Brad is a first-grade teacher.
| ’98 | Christy Rudderow graduated from MCP-Hahnemann School of Medicine in May and is currently on active duty with the United States Air Force as a family practice resident at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. Christy lives in Niceville, Fla. Tiana Shekari is a family practice resident at St. Luke’s Hospital with fellow Muhlenberg grads, Lori Kellogg and Mike Kayal. Tiana graduated from PCOM in Philadelphia with other Muhlenberg grads, Lisa Brownstein, Dan Wilkin, Tom Zanders, Dan Terpstra ’97 and Dave Allen. Tiana currently lives in Bethlehem. Ashley Stryker is completing graduate work in museum education studies at Bank Street College in New York City. Brian Teta is currently living in Manhattan. After working for four years at the television program “Montel,” Brian was recently hired as producer of Columbia/Tri Star Television’s “Ricki Lake Show.” Fay (Hiller) Verbel is pleased to announce her marriage to Jason Verbel on June 2, 2002. The couple lives in Springfield, N.J. Fay is a practice management analyst with CNT in Berkeley Heights, N.J. Georgette Weaver and Brad Fitzpatrick of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., celebrated their wedding on Saturday, September 21, 2002 at the Woodcliff Lake Hilton in New Jersey. The couple now resides in Pompano Beach, Fla.
| ’99 | Michael Geller is currently the editor of a Reform Jewish magazine, “Achim: the Magazine of the Federation of Temple Brotherhoods.” Tracey McGee is a physician assistant (PA) at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Emergency Department in Iselin, N.J. She is one of eight PA attendings that staff the emergency department (ED) 24-hours- day. She currently works nights and “loves the excitement and fast-pace of the ED!” Tracey recently received a new roommate, Jara Traina, a recent law school graduate and new law clerk. Tracey writes, “Our duplex is beautiful and we are having a fantastic time deciding on the décor.” Adam Shavitz is currently a math and science teacher for Clarkstown Central School District in New City N.Y. He works with emotionally fragile 10th, 11th and 12th grade students in a program called S.A.I.L., which stands for Structure, Attitude, Individuality and Learning. Adam lives in Valley Cottage, N.Y. Angel R. Torres announces his marriage to Amy Alicea on July 6, 2002. Angel is teaching economics and U.S. history in the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. He and Amy live in Mount Vernon, N.Y.
