Middle States Commission on Higher Education notifies Muhlenberg College of its next accreditation review in 2024-2025.

| September 2022 | President Harring appoints Provost Laura Furge and Dr. Jack Gambino as co-chairs of the Middle States Self-Study Steering Committee. |
| October 2022 | Laura Furge, Provost, and Dr. Jack Gambino, professor of political science, attend the 2022 Middle States Self-Study Institute. An additional seven members of the faculty and administrative staff also attend sessions. |
| December 2022 | Members of the Steering Committee and Working Groups appointed.
Evidence Inventory Group begins the process of collecting data/evidence. This process continues over the entire self-study phase and in collaboration with all the Working Groups and the Steering Committee. |
| January 2023 | Steering Committee meets for the first time; meetings continue throughout the semester.
Presentations made by co-chairs to faculty, administrators/staff, Board of Trustees and SGA. |
| Feb-April 2023 | Working Groups draft research questions. Steering Committee drafts Self-Study Design document and submits the draft by March 21, 2023 (four weeks prior to Self-Study prep visit. |
| April 2023 | The College’s MSCHE Liaison visits to meet with the Steering Committee and other constituencies; completes review of the Self-Study Design. |
| Summer 2023 |
Steering Committee finalizes Self-Study design for MSCHE review and approval. |
| Fall 2023 |
Working Groups collect data/evidence to address research questions; interpret data; and draft conclusions, suggestions, and recommendations. The Evidence Inventory Group continues to support data/evidence organization. |
| Spring 2024 |
Working Groups continue to collect data/evidence to address research questions; interpret data; and draft conclusions, suggestions, and recommendations. The Evidence Inventory Group continues to support data/evidence organization. Working Groups submit drafts before spring break. |
| Fall 2024 |
Steering Committee finalizes draft of Self-Study Report document. Campus Community reviews Self-Study Report draft. Self-Study draft sent to team chair. Team chair visits the institution (at least 4 months before team visit). MSCHE selects team members for site visit. Details for the team visit are finalized. Final draft of Self-Study document is completed based on team chair feedback and shared with campus. |
| Spring 2025 |
Final Self-Study Report/Verification of Compliance/Evidence Inventory uploaded to MSCHE portal (six weeks before team visit). Team visit (four-day visit begins Sunday afternoon and ends on Wednesday after the Team’s oral report to the campus community). Team Report and institutional response. |
| June 2025 |
Middle States Commission meets to determine action. |
