Noted poet and critic Lorenzo will conduct a workshop as part of Muhlenberg College's Public Engagement Project (PEP), Wednesday, October 3, 4 p.m., in the Miller Forum of Moyer Hall. The discussion will focus on cultural artistic diversity.

Thomas' work has been featured in several journals such as African American Review and Arrowsmith. He is currently a professor of English at the University of Houston, where he also serves as director of the school's Cultural Enrichment Center.

The Public Engagement Project resulted from a Hewlett Packard Foundation grant and is designed to give students a more hands on approach to learning about pluralism, diversity, and tolerance. This workshop is intended to provide a more intimate setting for students to engage in the course material as opposed to larger lectures or speakers.

This is the second in a series of two workshops designed for the Public Engagement Project. It is not open to the public.

Editor's note: Lorenzo Thomas will be available for interview. If you would like to schedule an interview, please call Christine Murphy at 484-664-3235.
