Information Commons

Floor: A-Level

Can Be Reserved By: Faculty/Staff

The Information Commons (IC) is located beside the Periodicals Reading Lounge along the west wall on A-Level. It is a classroom primarily used for library instruction sessions and is open as a study/meeting space when not reserved for classes. A whiteboard by the front door announces any classes scheduled in the space each day. This space is equipped with a projection device, a podium with a computer, a sound system, DVD Player, and a VCR. Its modular tables and chairs allow for easy rearrangement to meet the needs of all patrons.

To reserve the Information Commons: Contact the library's Administrative Assistant at 484-664-3551 or email [email protected]. Please note Trexler Library only accepts faculty and staff reservations for the Information Commons after the first two months of each semester due to its heavy use by our librarians.

B-01: Library Instruction Room

Floor: B-Level

The Library Instruction Room (B-01) is located beside the Rare Books Room along the northwest wall on B-Level. It is a classroom primarily used for library instruction sessions and is open as a study/meeting space when not reserved for classes. A whiteboard by the front door announces any classes scheduled in the space each day. B-01 is equipped with a projection device, a podium with a computer, a sound system, DVD Player, and a VCR. Its modular tables and chairs allow for easy rearrangement to meet the needs of all patrons.

B-02: Video-Viewing Classroom

Floor: B-Level

Can Be Reserved By: Faculty/Staff

The Video-Viewing Classroom (B-02) is down the hall from B-01 on B-Level. It is a space where professors schedule movie screenings in Trexler Library outside of standard class time; these can be movies owned by the library or a personal copy.  B-02 is also equipped with a projection device, a podium with a computer, a sound system, DVD/Blu-ray Player, and a VCR. 

To reserve B-02 for a viewing: Complete the Film Screening Request Form or, for multiple reservations, contact the library's Administrative Assistant at 484-664-3551 or email [email protected]. The date, time, film to be viewed, and any applicable language/subtitle requests are required at the time of booking. If you, the instructor, are unable to attend the scheduled viewing, please inform the Library Staff of this in advance, so arrangements can be made to begin the film in your absence.

Curriculum Lab (TRXLR CRL)

Floor: C-Level

Can Be Reserved By: Faculty/Staff

The Curriculum Lab (TRXLR CRL) can be found on C-Level near the elevator. This space is reserved by the Muhlenberg Registrar for classes during the day and is available as a resource room/study area to our Education students in the evening. If a student has a class in this room, it might appear on their schedule as “TRXLR CRL”. The Curriculum Lab is locked at 6 p.m. on weekdays and remains locked on weekends.
