Prospective Students

Looking at colleges? Interested in pursuing media and communication and the liberal arts? Here is why Muhlenberg Media & Communication might be right for you.

A Complete Education

In the Department of Media & Communication, critical thinking meets hands-on experience, as you explore all forms of media and investigate the social, political, economic and cultural contexts that both shape and are shaped by these converging forms.  As the nations leading undergraduate liberal arts program in Media & Communication—celebrating its fortieth anniversary in 2018—the department is dedicated to the convergence of media analysis and production training interwoven in practice and by mission. The department holds an explicit commitment to social justice, with an aim to produce reflective and ethical media makers

Media & Communication embraces the liberal arts ideal of intellectual exploration. Many of our students double major or minor in Film Studies, Creative Writing, and the new cross-campus Documentary Storymaking.

World-Class Teachers

With near twenty faculty covering everything from television to video gaming, documentary to the avant-garde, and everything in between, our professors take pride in working one-on-one with you in and out of the classroom, and dedicate themselves to expanding knowledge in the field by actively contributing scholarship to the discipline.  See for yourself!  In addition, each year we invite Leading Scholars and Media Makers for workshops, lectures and one-on-one time with students.

When you contact us to schedule your tour will be led by the faculty who will take the time - as they do with current students - to answer all your questions.
