Christa Warda has received critical acclaim in Europe as well as the United States for her singing. Operatic roles include Susannah in Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, Lily in the European premiere of Lucy Simon´s The Secret Garden, Violetta in La Traviata, Ann in the Philadelphia premiere of Dominic Argento´s The Masque of Angels, Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, Adele in Die Fledermaus and Despina in Così fan Tutte. In Brescia, Italy she sang a televised performance of Beethoven´s Ninth Symphony with the Brescia Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Riccardo Frizza. She has performed as soprano soloist with the Pennsylvania Sinfonia Orchestra and the Camerata Singers in John Rutter's Magnificat, Michael Tippett's A Child of Our Time, Handel's complete Messiah and twice in Mozart's Requiem. Other symphonic engagements include the Bach Magnificat and Christmas Oratorio, Haydn´s Harmoniemesse, and Beethoven's Choral Fantasy. She has a Bachelor's degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Music, in Baltimore, Maryland. She has also studied at the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, and has taught voice in Germany.
