Donald Hughes Languages, Literatures, & Cultures

Background

Received a performance certificate from The Philadelphia College of the Arts and earned his Bachelor of Music in performance from The Curtis Institute of Music, where he was a student of Michael Natale and Frank Kaderabek. While still in high school, Mr. Hughes performed with the Chicago Youth Orchestra and the Northwest Indiana Symphony. Mr. Hughes has also performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Concerto soloists of Philadelphia, and locally with the Lehigh Valley Chamber orchestra, the Bethlehem Bach Festival orchestra, the Pennsylvania Sinfonia, the Allentown Symphony, the Muhlenberg Summer Theatre pit orchestra and the Act One pit orchestra. He is principal trumpet of the Germantown Academy Chamber orchestra. Don is also a member of the Mainstreet Brass Quintet. In addition to an active freelance and solo schedule, Mr. Hughes maintains a full private teaching schedule.
