Background

Lauren Curnow Madigan earned her B.A. from Muhlenberg College in Theatre Arts and English.  She holds a master’s degrees in Music from The Julliard School and in Opera Performance from The Curtis Institute of Music.  She is the winner of the Edith Newfield Scholarship from the Musicians Club of Women, the Rose M. Grund award of the Union Leave Civic and Arts Foundation, the Anna Sosenko Trust Fund, and a Special Judges’ Award District Level from the Metropolitan Opera National Council.  As a member of the Ryan Opera Center of the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Lauren Madigan appeared on the stage of the Lyric Opera of Chicago as the Fox in The Cunning Little Vixen, Alisa in Lucia di Lammermoor, Clorinda in La Cenerentola, Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, Ida in Die Fledermaus and as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni. She has previously appeared with the Opera Company of Philadelphia, Wolf Trap Opera, Opera Festival of New Jersey, Chautauqua Opera, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, and the Santa Fe Opera.
