Baseball, Men's Tennis Lose to Fords

John Scuderi The Muhlenberg baseball team dropped the opener of its two-game series with Haverford, 6-2.

Andrew Brod The lone runs for the Mules (18-9, 2-3) came on a two-run homer in the fourth inning by sophomore John Scuderi. It was the second career home run for Scuderi (at right in picture), who is the eighth different Muhlenberg player to hit a four-bagger this season.

Junior Rob Shannon pitched his third complete game of the season, allowing seven hits in a losing effort.

The Muhlenberg men’s tennis team fell in its home opener, 8-1 to Haverford, the ninth-ranked team in the Atlantic South Region.

The Mules’ point came from the No. 3 doubles team of sophomore Ben Berkowitz and senior Andrew Brod (right). Freshman Eric Chavis went to a third set in his No. 5 singles match.
