Rheiner, Rispoli Earn All-CC Men's Lacrosse Honors

Nick Rispoli Doug Rheiner A pair of Muhlenberg men’s lacrosse players earned All-Centennial Conference recognition. Both senior Nick Rispoli and junior Doug Rheiner received honorable mention on the squad.

A preseason All-American and 2011 first-team All-CC selection, Rispoli missed the first six games of the season because of injury. But once he returned to the field, he picked up right where he left off as one of the top faceoff men in the conference.

Rispoli (right) led the CC in faceoff win percentage (.652) and ground balls per game (6.88) in conference play. Overall, he collected 55 ground balls and won 75 of 115 faceoffs to break the school career record for faceoffs won (240) and move into fourth place all time with 156 ground balls. He also scored the first goal of his career against Ursinus in the next-to-last game of the year.

He closed out his career in impressive style, winning 21 of 26 faceoffs in the season finale against Haverford to shatter the Mule single-game records for faceoffs won (old record 18) and ground balls (19, old record 14).

Rheiner (left) picked up the first all-conference honor of his career after leading the Mules in goals (25), tying for the lead in scoring (32 points) and finishing second in assists (7). He ranked fifth in the conference in goals per game (1.79) and tied for ninth in points per contest (2.29). Both his goal and point totals rank in the top 10 on the school’s single-season lists.

He scored a career-high five goals in the win over Susquehanna and currently ranks in the top 20 in Mule history in career goals and points.
