Kline Named Player of the Week

Kelly Kline Kelly Kline picked up right where she left off.

The 2012 Centennial Conference player of the year was named CC player of the week for the first week of the 2013 season.

Kline hit .667 with nine RBI in the first four games of the new campaign, leading Muhlenberg to a 4-0 start. She got hits in eight straight plate appearances against Misericordia and Elizabethtown, hitting a walkoff single in the first game and a game-winning two-run homer in the eighth inning of the second.

Kline, who was named CC player of the week three times last year, drove in a career-high five runs vs. Elizabethtown to account for all the Mule scoring in a 5-4 win.

Already the school record-holder for career home runs (16), the junior is closing in on the marks for career RBI (93; she needs eight to tie) and extra-base hits (50; she needs 10 to tie).
