Franck, Umbach Named to All-CC Team

Franck (left) earned the first all-conference nod of her career after leading the Mules in ground balls (55) and caused turnovers (34). In the CC, she is tied for first in ground balls and tied for second in caused turnovers. Her 31 ground balls in CC games led all players.

Franck led a defense that produced two shutouts in a season for the first time in program history, and she scored her first career goal in one of them, a 14-0 CC blanking of Bryn Mawr. Franck finished her career second in team history with 99 caused turnovers and tied for third with 162 ground balls.

Umbach (right) landed on the All-CC squad for the second year in a row after making the first team as a freshman. She scored a team-leading 72 points – the fourth-highest single-season total in team history. Umbach’s 59 goals rank third in the CC, and she set a school record with 77 draw controls while also finishing second on the Mules in caused turnovers (15).

In only two seasons, Umbach already ranks third on Muhlenberg’s all-time list with 141 draw controls. Umbach’s career total of 110 points is the second-most in program history after two seasons.

Muhlenberg won its final three games of the 2013 season to finish with a winning record (8-7).
