John Muha This is the kind of double play John Muha doesn’t mind hitting into.

The recently graduated outfielder on the Muhlenberg baseball team was named to two Mid-Atlantic all-region teams, voted to the first team by and the second team by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

Muha is the fourth Mule to earn all-region honors and the first to be named to two all-region teams in the same season. (This is only the second year for the teams.) He is Muhlenberg’s first first-team all-region selection since Christian Conti in 2008.

The only position player elected to the All-Centennial Conference first team unanimously, Muha led the CC in hitting with a .408 batting average and was second in hits (69), third in runs scored (47) and fourth in on-base percentage (.485). He led Muhlenberg in all those categories as well as stolen bases (13) and walks (22) and was second on the team in slugging percentage (.485) and third in doubles (10). Despite hitting leadoff for the entire season, he also was fourth on the team with 27 RBI.

During the year, Muha set school records for hits in a season and career (194). He also tied the marks for hits in a game (6 vs. Penn State Brandywine) and longest hitting streak (24 games, spanning two seasons).

Muha finished his career tied for seventh in CC history in hits. On the Mules’ all-time lists, in addition to topping the chart in hits, he was second in walks (74), third in batting average (.375) and runs scored (130), fourth in doubles (32) and total bases (240), sixth in on-base percentage (.457), ninth in fielding percentage (.974), 11th in RBI (85) and 12th in stolen bases (29).
