Kelly Kline Kelsey Jones The “Kelly and Kelsey Show” is back on the air for its third season with the Muhlenberg softball team.

Senior Kelly Kline, the 2012 Centennial Conference player of the year, and junior Kelsey Jones, the 2013 CC pitcher of the year, were the first weekly CC honorees of the 2014 season.

It’s the sixth time Kline has been named player of the week, the fourth time Jones has been named pitcher of the week, and the second time the duo has been honored in the same week.

Kline hit .643 with nine RBI and a 1.000 slugging percentage as the Mules opened their season with four straight wins. She had two three-hit games and tied a career high with five RBI, three on her 22nd career home run, in a 9-8 win against Ohio Northern. Already the program’s all-time leader in home runs, extra-base hits and RBI, Kline also broke the school record for career total bases (250).

Jones was 2-0 with a 0.58 ERA and seven strikeouts in 12 innings in her first two starts of the season. She pitched a two-hitter for her seventh career shutout against Elizabethtown, facing only three batters above the minimum and allowing only one runner past first base. The two wins pushed Jones’ career record to 28-13.
