Hargrove Named Player of the Week

Kevin Hargrove Junior Kevin Hargrove was named player of the week by the Centennial Conference after leading the Muhlenberg men’s basketball team to a pair of wins.

Hargrove missed only three shots in the two games, going 14-of-16 (.875) from the field and 3-for-4 from the line. He averaged 15.5 points and 10.5 rebounds, posting a double-double (17 points, 12 rebounds) vs. Washington and just missing one (14 points, nine rebounds) vs. Haverford.

The 6-10 center also blocked five shots in the two games, bringing his career total to 164 – one short of the school record. He ranks seventh in CC history in career blocked shots.

For the season, Hargrove leads the CC by a wide margin in blocked shots. He has 52; the player in second place has 30. He also is second in rebounding (8.2 per game) and third in field-goal percentage (.606) while averaging 11.6 points per game.

The two wins lifted the Mules into a tie with Johns Hopkins for third place in the CC. Muhlenberg returns home to host Hopkins on Saturday after playing at Ursinus on Wednesday.
