Kevin Hargrove For the second time in four weeks, Muhlenberg junior Kevin Hargrove was named Centennial Conference men’s basketball player of the week.

Hargrove averaged 26.5 points, 13.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocked shots while shooting 66.7 percent from the field as the Mules won two games to clinch a berth in the CC playoffs. He recorded a double-double with 24 points and a career-high 17 rebounds against CC co-leader Dickinson, then scored a career-high 29 points on 12-of-15 shooting at McDaniel.

Hargrove also broke his own school record for blocked shots in a season in the McDaniel game.

The two games extended a tremendous stretch for the 6-10 center. Over the last eight games, during which Muhlenberg is 6-2, Hargrove is averaging 15.5 points, 9.6 rebounds and 3.1 blocks and shooting 62.3 percent.

For the season, Hargrove leads the CC in blocked shots (72) and rebounds (195, 8.5 per game). He is third in field-goal percentage (.591) – first among players with at least 100 attempts.

Muhlenberg enters the final week of the regular season in fourth place in the CC, two games ahead of Gettysburg. The Mules will have at worst a home playoff game if they win one of their two remaining games (home vs. Haverford on Wednesday and home vs. Ursinus on Saturday).
