This girl is on fire.

Senior Kate Clawson was named Centennial Conference player of the week after continuing her late-season surge and leading the Muhlenberg women’s basketball team to a pair of wins in their last two regular-season games.

Clawson averaged 20.5 points, recording her two highest point totals of the season, and shot 70 percent from three-point range as the Mules beat Haverford and Ursinus to clinch the third seed in the CC playoffs.

Clawson scored a career-high 23 points against a Haverford team that came in allowing only 50.0 points per game. After the Fords took a 51-49 lead with 4:23 left, she hit three-pointers on back-to-back possessions to start a game-ending 19-8 run. Clawson scored 12 of the points, going 6-for-6 from the foul line in the final minute to ice the game.

In the Senior Day game against Ursinus, Clawson netted 18 points, again coming up big from behind the arc with the game on the line. Muhlenberg was clinging to a two-point lead with just over five minutes remaining when Clawson nailed threes on back-to-back possessions, kicking off a decisive 10-1 run.

She was a perfect 12-for-12 from the foul line in the two games, and she also averaged 7.5 rebounds and blocked three shots.

Over the last seven games, Clawson is averaging 15.3 points, raising her season average from 6.7 to 9.1. She is shooting 52.9 percent (18-for-34) on three-pointers during that span.

Muhlenberg is 6-1 over the seven games, losing only to Swarthmore on a banked-in three-pointer at the buzzer. The Mules will get a chance to avenge that loss when they face the Garnet in the semifinals of the CC playoffs at Gettysburg on Friday night.
