Zabrecky, Clawson Named to All-CC Team

Two seniors on the Muhlenberg women’s basketball team were selected to the All-Centennial Conference team, one completing a progression up the CC ranks and the other completing a progression from role player to all-conference player.

Alita Zabrecky Alita Zabrecky was voted to the first team, and Kate Clawson received honorable mention.

Zabrecky gives the Mules a first-team All-CC player for the eighth consecutive season – a streak unprecedented in CC history. She became the fifth Muhlenberg player to earn All-CC honors three times and the first to go from honorable mention as a sophomore to second team as a junior to first team as a senior.

Kate Clawson Zabrecky (right) led the Mules and ranks fourth in the CC in scoring, averaging 14.5 points per game. She also led the team in rebounds per game (7.4) and steals (58) and was second in three-pointers (27) and third in assists (64).

One of the top all-around players in team history, Zabrecky ranks in the top 10 on Muhlenberg’s all-time lists in points (sixth with 1,234), field goals (fifth with 450), three-point field goals (seventh with 86), free throws (eighth with 247), rebounds (eighth with 655), assists (ninth with 221) and steals (seventh with 191).

Clawson (left), who averaged fewer than 13 minutes per game over her first three seasons, emerged as one of the Mules’ most reliable players, especially during the stretch run to the playoffs. She averaged 14.6 points over the final eight games of the season, shooting 52.8 percent from three-point range.

For the season, Clawson averaged 9.2 points per game, good for second on the team. She led the Mules in three-pointers (31) and free-throw percentage (.911) and was second in blocked shots (20) and steals (25). Clawson leads the CC in three-point shooting percentage (.477) and finished her career 10th in team history with 72 career threes.
