Men's Tennis Names Two Captains

Ben Berkowitz Jason Teitelbaum Seniors Ben Berkowitz and Jason Teitelbaum will repeat as captains of the 2014 Muhlenberg men’s tennis team.

Berkowitz (left) spent the majority of his junior season at No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles. He collected seven victories to push his career total to 37, good for second among active Mules.

Berkowitz, who leads all active men’s players with 24 singles wins, reached the finals of the Mule Fall Classic at fourth singles.

Teitelbaum (right) is Muhlenberg’s active leader with 42 career victories, split evenly between singles and doubles. The veteran, who led the Mules with 17 wins as a junior, split time between No. 2 and No. 3 singles a year ago, even filling in at first singles. At No. 2 doubles, Teitelbaum finished with an 8-6 record, including a 5-4 mark in Centennial Conference play, part of the team’s only duo to post a winning season.

In the Mules’ fall finale, Teitelbaum prevailed in a marathon at No. 2 singles, taking a 10-8 decision in the third set after the first two went to tiebreaks.

Muhlenberg is schuled to open the spring season at Lafayette on March 14.
