Basketball unsung heroes

CJ Graetzer For the second straight year, senior CJ Graetzer of the Muhlenberg women’s soccer team was selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s All-Mid-Atlantic Region squad.

Graetzer moved up to the second team after earning third-team laurels last season. She is the fourth player in program history to be named all-region multiple times.

Graetzer, a midfielder who also was named to the All-Centennial Conference first team, was the Mules’ leading scorer with six goals and 13 points. Two of those goals came in the final game of the regular season, a 4-0 victory over Bryn Mawr that clinched Muhlenberg’s CC playoff berth, and her successful penalty kick proved to be the winning strike in a shootout at McDaniel in the first round.

Graetzer made 68 starts in a career in which she started all but six games. She ranks 12th on the program’s all-time list with 18 career goals, and her 43 total points place her inside the top 15 in that category.
