By investing their time in a Wescoe Education.
The typical American family uses a variety of financial products and services, such as checking and savings accounts, personal loans, mortgages, insurance and investments including 401(k) retirement plans. Businesses, meanwhile, have an equally wide-ranging need for financial products, including term loans, credit lines, and cash-management accounts that help them succeed. Whether personal or business, all of these consumers of financial services depend on well-trained professionals who can explain sophisticated products in clear and easy terms.
“It is truly amazing how important financial institutions, and the professionals who work for them, are to the community,” said Debra Watts, instructor in the program as well as its coordinator. Debra strives to ensure course content remains current and reflective of the evolving needs of the financial services industry.
In the Lehigh Valley, some of these professionals are enrolled at The Wescoe School of Muhlenberg College. The school offers a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Financial Services Management.
The program’s courses cover the theoretical aspects of finance and also delve into the fast-moving current of today’s legal, regulatory and economic changes.
“Instructors are living these changing dynamics in their professional lives, and we are pleased to assist students in understanding and preparing for their impact on our financial future,” Watts said.
Evidence of how well-prepared Wescoe students are can be seen in Sigrid Rhea, (pictured right) a Wescoe graduate and manager of KNBT’s branch in downtown Easton. “I encourage anyone who is interested in being an integral part of the financial success of the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas to reach out to The Wescoe School” Watts said.
