Summer Check-In: Debbie McDonald ’26 Interns With Local Farm and Food Bank McDonald, a sustainability studies major, splits her time between The Seed Farm and Second Harvest Food Bank – a local opportunity she found through Muhlenberg’s Office of Community Engagement.

Maddie Davidson ’25 spoke about her tree science and stewardship project that won a Youth Climate Action Fund grant from the city and led to an opportunity to speak at last fall’s Bloomberg CityLab summit in Mexico City.

Muhlenberg has been recognized for excellence in Student Voter Registration and Turnout during the 2022 Midterm Elections.

Approximately $1 million of the federal grant is earmarked to expand the Muhlenberg College’s Inside-Out program.

Students from the College and students who are incarcerated shared their group projects and received completion certificates to wrap up the popular and impactful course, which was held this semester for the first time since the start of the pandemic.

Simone Kaye ’23, whose primary interest is in criminal justice reform, worked with a nonprofit organization that serves formerly incarcerated women.

Through the Office of Community Engagement, Lacey Pasco ’23 is working with the Allentown Environmental Advisory Council and Promise Neighborhoods of the Lehigh Valley.
