Associate Director of Prevention Education

Karmen joined Muhlenberg College in July 2022. In her role as the Associate Director of Prevention Education, Karmen provides and oversees educational offerings focused on healthy sexuality and sexual and intimate partner violence prevention and response. Karmen strives to create a culture of nurturance through offering a space for students to explore their own sexual agency and wholeness, while respecting the bodily autonomy of others. In her role, Karmen also oversees Voices of Strength (VOS), a peer educator group on-campus focused on promoting safer, healthier relationships and positive sexual interactions for all students.

Prior to joining the Muhlenberg community, Karmen served in various roles, including as a Prevention Educator working with middle and high school students and an Intervention Coordinator and Program Manager working with survivors of domestic violence. Karmen earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from King's College and her Master of Arts degree from Old Dominion University.
