Investigating Protein Structure

The Entrez Structure search engine uses the Molecular Modeling Database (MMDB) to find experimentally determined three-dimensional structures of your protein. These models are obtained from x-ray crystallography, NMR spectroscopy, and electron microscopy data. You can use this program to visualize how your protein actually looks inside the cell. Remember to examine the 3D structure for the functional domains you previously identified and take note of how these domains impact protein structure.
