Alyssa Schell April 19: Softball clinches playoff berth
The Muhlenberg softball team swept Ursinus, 2-0 and 9-0, to clinch a Centennial Conference playoff berth. Junior Alyssa Schell (right) had three hits in the doubleheader, including the 100th of her career.

Troy Elias April 19: Baseball splits with No. 22 Gettysburg
The Muhlenberg baseball team split a doubleheader at 22nd-ranked Gettysburg to remain in second place in the Centennial Conference. Freshman Troy Elias (left) earned the win in the opener, allowing only two runs in six innings in his first career start.

April 19: Tennis teams fall to ranked foes, five compete on track at Moravian
The Muhlenberg tennis teams lost three matches in two days to ranked teams, and the track and field teams sent a handful of athletes to the Moravian Greyhound Invitational and had some impressive performances.

David Anderson April 18: Baseball blanks Swarthmore behind Anderson
Junior David Anderson (right) pitched eight shutout innings as the Muhlenberg baseball team gained a split of the season series with Swarthmore with a 3-0 home win.

Veronica Maccia Anna Provax April 18: Records fall, seniors score in women's lacrosse home finale
The Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team broke or tied a number of records in its 21-1 win against Bryn Mawr in the final scheduled home game of the season. All seven seniors scored on Senior Day, including Veronica Maccia (left) and Anna Provax (right), who netted their first career goals.

Nicole Iannarone April 17: Ranking, sweep, record for softball
After earning an NCAA regional ranking, the Muhlenberg softball team swept Dickinson to reach the 20-win mark and set the College record for wins in back-to-back seasons by any sport. Sophomore Nicole Iannarone (left) doubled in the go-ahead run in the sixth inning of the nightcap.

Sharen Resnikoff April 17: Win vs. Ursinus extends women's tennis streak
The Muhlenberg women's tennis team assured itself of a non-losing Centennial Conference record for an unmatched 14th consecutive year with a 6-3 defeat of Ursinus. Junior Sharen Resnikoff (right) was one of two Mules to win both of her matches.

Senior Jarrett Felix of the Muhlenberg corss country and track and field teams finished in the top third of a rigorous nationwide math competition.

Competing on a Wednesday and in cold, windy conditions, the Muhlenberg track and field teams had six first-place finishers - including sophomore Ashley Riley (left) in the long jump and junior Kieran Newcomb (right) in the steeplechase - at the Gwynedd Mercy Midweek Meet.

April 16: Women's lacrosse, baseball fall to Swarthmore
The Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team rallied from a six-goal second-half deficit before losing in double-overtime to Swarthmore, 11-10. Baseball lost at Swarthmore, 4-3, on a run in the bottom of the eighth.

Muhlenberg athletes are doing amazing things to become stronger leaders in the community.

April 14: Men's golf finishes strong
A strong second round lifted the Muhlenberg men's golf team to a ninth-place finish at the Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational.

Nick Plinio April 12: Late rally completes baseball sweep
The Muhlenberg baseball team scored two runs in the ninth to defeat Franklin & Marshall, 2-1, and complete a doubleheader sweep. Junior Nick Plinio (left) had four hits, including two of the Mules' record-tying eight doubles, in a 15-7 win in the first game.

April 12: Softball sweeps Susquehanna
The Muhlenberg softball team swept Susquehanna, a 40-win team last year, 3-1 and 3-2.

Daniel Cano Jennifer Goldberg April 12: Track competes in three meets; women's tennis dominates
The Muhlenberg track and field teams competed at three different meets over a three-day stretch. Sophomore Daniel Cano (left) set a personal best in the shot put at Moravian's Coach P Open. Women's tennis lost only three games in a 9-0 shutout of McDaniel, with junior Jennifer Goldberg (right) winning 8-0 at third doubles and 6-0, 6-0 at third singles.

Pat Farrell April 12: Second half surges sink lacrosse teams
McDaniel scored eight goals in the fourth quarter to come from behind and defeat Muhlenberg, 14-12, in men's lacrosse. Junior Pat Farrell (right) scored a career-high five points on two goals and three assists. The women led at halftime but ended up losing, 15-10.

Derrick Eng April 10: Muhlenberg goes 1-2 vs. Moravian
The Muhlenberg men's tennis team defeated local rival Moravian, 6-3, in a match that featured many close sets and three three-set singles matches. Sophomore Derrick Eng (right) won handily at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles. Baseball and softball were defeated by the Greyhounds.

The Muhlenberg men's lacrosse team snapped a seven-game losing streak with an 11-8 Centennial Conference win against Haverford. Junior Jason Mertz (left) recorded three assists, and sophomore Jashon DeSenna (right) led the defense with three caused turnovers and four ground balls.

Alexis Giovinazzo April 9: Softball splits with Drew
The Muhlenberg softball team drew 12 walks in the first game of its doubleheader with Drew, winning 9-0. Sophomore Alexis Giovinazzo (left) had an RBI single in a four-run second. Drew won the nightcap, 4-1.

John Icaza April 8: Eight-run inning boosts baseball
The Muhlenberg baseball team scored eight runs in the sixth inning and went on to win at Haverford, 12-10. Freshman John Icaza (right) had two extra-base hits, including his first career home run, in the big inning.

The Muhlenberg men's tennis team was shut out at home by regionally ranked Haverford.

April 7: Jones, Umbach earn conference honors
Muhlenberg juniors Kelsey Jones (softball) and Stephanie Umbach (women's lacrosse) were recognized by the Centennial Conference.

Heather Porrini April 6: Porrini caps sweep with no-hitter
Junior Heather Porrini (right) pitched a no-hitter as the Muhlenberg softball team capped a sweep of defending Centennial Conference champion with an 8-0 win. The Mules took the opener, 4-1.

Brett Rosen April 6: Baseball completes 3-0 weekend
Senior Brett Rosen (right) hit his first home run of the season to start a five-run inning as the Muhlenberg baseball team defeated Washington, 8-5, for its third win in two days.

Phillip Balseca April 5: Pitching leads baseball to sweep
The Muhlenberg baseball team did not allow an earned run in 19 innings in picking up its first two Centennial Conference wins with a doubleheader sweep at McDaniel. Junior Phillip Balseca (left) worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the ninth to earn the win in the opener.

The Muhlenberg men's golf team weathered miserable conditions to come in second at the RU-Camden Scarlet Raptor Spring Invitational. Freshman David Barkley (left) tied for fifth with a 78.

The Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team opened up a big early lead and held on to defeat 2013 Centennial Conference playoff qualifier Haverford, 14-12. Sophomore Kiersten Mulvey (left) made five saves and allowed only three goals in the first half.

Jamie Rosenblum April 1: Women's tennis shuts out Bryn Mawr
The Muhlenberg women's tennis team won its second straight Centennial Conference match, shutting out Bryn Mawr, 9-0. Freshman Jamie Rosenblum (right) recorded her own shutout, winning 6-0, 6-0 at fifth singles.

April 1: Softball splits, baseball falls
The Muhlenberg softball team split with Haverford, winning the first game for its first 5-0 Centennial Conference start ever. Baseball lost at Ursinus, 5-1.

The Centennial Conference bestowed weekly honors on Muhlenberg softball players Kelly Kline and Heather Porrini and women's lacrosse player Kaitlyn McCaffrey.
