Scenes From Past Events

Create, Perform and Collaborate

Student Performance Clubs and Organizations

At Muhlenberg, the arts extend far beyond academic programs and mainstage productions. Student-led performance clubs and organizations give you the opportunity to sing, dance, act, produce, improvise, compose, perform, and experiment alongside peers who share your creative passions.

Whether you want to join an a capallea group, perform improv comedy, choreograph original dance works, support live productions behind the scenes, or explore emerging forms of performance and media, you’ll find opportunities to get involved from your first semester.

With dozens of arts and performance organizations on campus, Muhlenberg students build creative communities while developing leadership, collaboration, technical production, and performance skills.

Includes:

AcaFellas: The Muhlenberg AcaFellas are Muhlenberg's all-male, gender fluid, and non-binary identifying a cappella group dedicated to creating great music and having a great time doing it. From silly dances to beautiful songs, the "fellas" strive to create an uplifting, positive community of singers, beatboxers, and all-around talents.

Chaimonics: The Muhlenberg Chaimonics are Muhlenberg’s only Jewish-based a capella group! We sing songs in Hebrew and songs by Jewish artists as a core part of our repertoire. While we have strong Jewish roots and connections to Jewish organizations on and off the Muhlenberg campus, you do not need to be Jewish to become a part of the Chai family!

CODA: An acapella group for all women, genderfluid, and nonbinary bodies on campus - a safe place to sing with a group of people who feel like family!

Dynamics: The Dynamics are Muhlenberg College's first and oldest co-ed a capella group, founded in 1989. Our repertoire features a variety of genres including pop, rock, and indie songs. We record albums every couple of years which can be found on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music!

Inacchord: Muhlenberg College's R&B a cappella group.

Noteworthy A Cappella: Noteworthy A Cappella is a movie musical and Broadway-based a cappella group.

Songsycle: We are a dynamic group of musical theatre singers and actors who perform solos, duets, and group numbers in concert twice a semester! Our rehearsals function as workshops in which members rehearse their songs and receive notes and feedback from one another.

A Cappella Council: A council made up of representatives from each of Muhlenberg's six a cappella groups that works to foster communication and collaboration between them.

Includes:

Copacetic Rhythms: The Copacetic Rhythms is a student-run tap dance group that performs in campus events, allowing for students to practice the art of tap dance in a casual and friendly setting. They also allow for students on campus to grow the tap dance community.

K-Pop Club (KPC): KPC is a space where people that have an interest in Kpop or are interested in learning more about Kpop can come to talk about the latest news, groups they are interested in, and upcoming debuts and comebacks. Other activities include learning K-Pop choreography for fun, random play dances, and more!

Mint Hip Hop Dance Team: Mint Hip Hop Dance Team is a group of both experienced and unexperienced hip hop dancers that come together to move, grove, and have fun. We love to bring people together through dance and creating a safe place for people to express themselves!

Muhlenberg Dance Association (MDA): The Muhlenberg Dance Association is a student-run organization that is dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive community of performers, choreographers, artists, and audiences. We provide students with educational and personal growth opportunities that enrich the greater dance community through service and production of dance across multiple platforms.

Muhlenberg Israeli Dance Troupe: The Muhlenberg Israeli Dance Troupe is a performing troupe that showcases Israeli culture and dance, from pre-Israeli times to today. The Troupe aims to perform at multiple shows throughout the year, including a large Israeli Dance festival in March.

Perkulators: The Perkulators are an auditioned jazz dance team who perform at various sporting and community events.

Poised Ivy: Poised Ivy is a Majorette Dance Team on Muhlenberg's Campus started in 2022 by POC. PI was created to generate new dance culture on the campus so everyone feels represented. The team encompasses discoveries of life lessons, lessons of oneself's hidden abilities, empowerment, and overall a sisterhood where everyone feels safe and is welcomed.

SOL:  Dances of the Latin and Caribbean Soul: SOL’s goal is to choreograph and create pieces that explore dances created by different Latin and Caribbean cultures, and to teach those who take part in the dance about the world they stem from. Samba, Merengue, Bachata, Salsa, and much more! Join us!

Vaudeville Club: Vaudeville aims to teach and perform circus arts at events on campus.

Includes:

BergImmersive: BergImmersive is a student-run, student-produced theatre club subverting the Muhlenberg community’s expectations of a traditional performance experience. Our club produces works that are in some way or another untraditional, whether that be through staging, interpretation, or medium. BergImmersive is the perfect space to experiment with “theatre” as an event.

Damsels in Excess: Damsels in Excess is an improv and sketch comedy group comprised of non-cis male comedians. The group existing in sketch comedy--a genre historically dominated by cisgender men--means they are giving ourselves permission to take up space in the comedy realm. They use this space to focus on topics that center cisgender women, transgender folks, and non-binary people, to enforce joyous, safe creative spaces, and to focus on political realms that are important to them. In their sketches, they often incorporate feminist and queer lenses.

Fun with Science: What is Fun With Science? Imagine SNL but every other sketch is about freshmen dorms or the fragile balance between student athletes and arts students at Muhlenberg. Whether it's on stage or on screen, Fun With Science has a sketch that's sure to make you laugh!

Muhlenberg Comedy Association (MCA): The Muhlenberg Comedy Association is a student organization dedicated to the support of all comedy-based ensembles of Muhlenberg College. We are here to provide spaces and structure for any comedy group to be supported and given all of the necessary materials needed to freely create funny art. In addition, we hope to spread laughter in our community through comedy performances.

Muhlenberg Improv Association (MIA): The Muhlenberg Improv Association (also known as MIA) is one of six comedy groups hosted under the Muhlenberg Comedy Association! We are Muhlenberg's short-form comedic improvisation group, meaning that we do short, snappy, witty, game-like comedy (think, "Who's Line is it Anyway?"). We have 3 shows per semester, and accept new members every fall!

Muhlenberg Theatre Association (MTA): The Muhlenberg Theatre Association provides opportunities to create and attend a variety of engaging performances, events, and educational opportunities. The mission of the MTA is to enrich the campus and the local community with theatrical experiences. A co-curricular, non-partisan club, our goal is to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all forms of expression.

SIT: SIT is Muhlenberg's stand-up comedy group! Throughout the semester, we put on two to three comedy shows, open mics, and other fun events with the MCA!

To Be Determined (TBD): To Be Determined (TBD)  is Muhlenberg’s only musical improv comedy group! We created a fully improvised musical in under an hour based on audience suggestions. Come watch us sing on the spot paired with our amazing accompanists on the piano and guitar. Follow us on Instagram @mctbd for show and audition information!

The Underground Improv Project (UiP): UiP is Muhlenberg Colleges long form improv group.

Includes:

A-Town Records Music Association: A-Town Records aspires to act as a unifying body for Muhlenberg musicians to connect and collaborate on musical projects and performances. We also strive to provide student musicians with resources, educational opportunities, and creative outlets, while creating spaces for the student body to participate in music-making in formal and informal settings.

Berg Production: The Berg Production team serves as a resource for student organizations and student facing events and is able to provide high-level technical support for events, including lighting, sound, microphones, equipment support, and more! Through this process, members of the organization are able to gain skills in supporting live events with lighting and sound equipment.

GASP: The object and purpose of GASP is to create music with good musicianship that preserves the era of The Great American Songbook (defined as 1920’s to the 1960’s) while showcasing all member’s unique talents. The group's mission also includes outreach performances and being a broader part of the Muhlenberg and Lehigh Valley community.

M.A.E.S.T.R.O. (The Muhlenberg Assembly of Electronic Sound Technology for a Reimagined Orchestra): MAESTRO exists to reimagine what an orchestra can be. We are a community of creators passionate about blending traditional musical artistry with modern technology. Our mission is to empower students of all experience levels to explore electronic sound, music production, and individual composition in an inclusive, collaborative space.

Pep Band: Muhlenberg Pep Band is a student-run music ensemble that performs at home football games, home basketball games, and other celebration and events. There are no requirements to join us in terms of experience, and we rehearse once a week! Check us out on Instagram @muhlenbergpepband.

WMUH: WMUH, the radio station at Muhlenberg College, broadcasts over the air as well as online. We offer student and community members a chance to present a variety of ideas, art and voices, unlike any in the area.
