Admitted Student FAQ
If you’re not finding the answer to your question, please contact your counselor or email admissions@muhlenberg.edu. We’re happy to help!
How can I connect with a current student to ask questions?
We strongly recommend attending an admitted student event on campus to meet students, faculty, and staff. We also offer Meet a Mule, which allows you to connect with current students. Fill out this form to participate:
How can I connect with faculty and staff?
Please reach out to the admissions team — we would be glad to connect you with a faculty member in your academic area of interest. We also strongly encourage you to join us on campus for an admitted student event to meet faculty in person and learn more about various campus resources and offices.
What is Allentown like? What is in the area?
Allentown is part of the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania’s fastest-growing region (with more than 700,000 residents) and a hub for arts, culture, business, and recreation. Allentown, the state’s third-largest city, is home to diverse dining options, two minor-league sports teams, Dorney Park, and one of the best park systems in the United States. Our students take advantage of our ideal location, situated between New York City and Philadelphia. Learn more about life in the Lehigh Valley.
Can first-year students have a car on campus?
We want first-year students to fully immerse themselves in their first-year experience and so it is the college’s current policy that first-year students are not allowed cars on campus. Rides on LANTA, the area’s bus service, are free to Muhlenberg students and allow them access to shopping, dining, and entertainment. If you have an extenuating circumstance, you may submit a request to have a car on campus directly to the dean of students at deanofstudents@muhlenberg.edu.
Can I get credit for AP and IB tests?
Yes. The college will offer course credit for some AP and IB scores. Specifics can be found on the Office of the Registrar’s page.
What is the college’s deferral policy?
- Students who have already submitted their enrollment confirmation and deposit for fall 2026 can request a deferral of attendance to fall 2027. Students who defer their attendance cannot be a full-time, degree-seeking (matriculated) student at another college or university in the United States or abroad during their deferral period.
- To request a deferral, please submit a Deferral Request Form using your Application Status Portal login credentials. You will receive a response via email within five to seven business days.
- The deadline to request a deferral is June 30.
- If a student is granted a deferral and they have been awarded need-based financial aid for the original entry term, they will need to submit a new FAFSA and supporting financial documents for the entry term when they will be starting after their deferral. If a student has been awarded merit-based scholarships, these awards will carry over to the student’s entry term following their deferral.
- Deferrals are granted for a maximum of one year.
What are admissions requirements for final transcripts and verified test scores?
- Ask your high school counselor to send your final high school transcript with your graduation date when it becomes available. Your offer of admission is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of your secondary school work. We reserve the right to rescind an admission offer if we are made aware of dishonesty in your application or any other information that we believe would interfere with your ability to be a positive contributor and member of the Muhlenberg community.
- If you originally submitted self-reported test scores as part of your application and you have committed to attending Muhlenberg, you may send verified test scores in the following ways:
- Once logged into your testing portal (SAT or ACT), take a screenshot of all test scores.
- Request that your high school counselor send your test scores. They may send them to admissions@muhlenberg.edu.
- Send scores from the test agency directly. (Muhlenberg “superscores” the SAT and the ACT, so please send all of your test scores.)
