We’re excited that you’re interested in the challenging liberal arts education and supportive residential experience that Muhlenberg offers. We value your previous college experience and invite you to learn about all the exciting possibilities Muhlenberg has to offer.

Each semester we enroll transfer students who have demonstrated academic achievement in high school and college, quality of character, and the potential to contribute to our community in meaningful ways.

The Office of Admissions works with transfer students from the ages of 18 to 23 who are applying to become traditional, full-time students on campus. Part-time students and full-time adult (over the age of 23) students should work with our School of Continuing Studies.

Here’s what you need to do once you’ve decided that you’d like to apply to transfer to Muhlenberg.

Note: These deadlines for international students are recommended to allow enough time for visa processing.

We’ve broken down the admissions process for you here. All documentation (transcripts, recommendation letters, resumes, or additional information) should be sent to transfer@muhlenberg.edu.

You may apply online. There is no fee to complete your application.

Request that your official high school and college transcripts be sent to Muhlenberg.

Both the Mid-Term Report and College Report from Common Application are required.

Provide a letter of recommendation from a college professor.

Please provide a copy of your passport.

The Certification of Finance form is located within each applicant’s Application Status Portal. This form takes 5-10 minutes to complete, and no banking documentation is required.

If you are a domestic student and you wish to be considered for need-based financial aid, please file a FAFSA. .

We review all applications holistically. Important factors include maintaining good academic progress at your current institution (the average GPA of admitted students is 3.0), character, and the potential to contribute to our community in meaningful ways.

Once admitted to Muhlenberg, we will be able to provide you with a review of your college course work to determine which classes will transfer to Muhlenberg. Next steps to receive a credit evaluation will be sent to you in your admissions letter.

Yes — in addition to the merit scholarships and need-based financial aid (determined by completing the FAFSA) available to all students, transfer students accepted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) are awarded a $5,000 per year merit scholarship.

Two members of our admissions staff are dedicated to assisting transfer applicants. Before beginning classes, transfer students participate in an orientation program specifically designed for their transition from another institution. Each student is also paired with an academic advisor who will guide them through the process of registering for classes.
