Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Analytics

We oversee institutional research and assessment for external and internal research purposes.

Our Mission

The purpose of our office is to collect and disseminate information about the operations of our college to internal and external stakeholders. The work of this office is collaborative and relies upon the cooperation of administrative staff and faculty across many departments and programs. We value academic equity and information dissemination to inform and support program improvement. To that end, we support and manage the college-wide assessment plan and conduct analyses of organizational effectiveness. We also conduct research to evaluate institutional, academic, and administrative programs in light of our college’s mission, strategic priorities, program goals, and the strategic planning process.

Our goals:

  • The timely collection and reporting of information to external reporting entities (e.g., IPEDS, HEDS, AICUP, NCAA)
  • The timely completion of the annual academic and administrative assessments
  • The timely completion of the cycle of general academic requirement course assessment
  • The timely dissemination of internal requests for data used to measure program outcomes
  • The collection and analysis of data to measure program or organizational effectiveness

Middle States Accreditation

In mid-2025, Muhlenberg was granted reaccreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, confirming that the college meets all accreditation standards and requirements.

The visiting team commended Muhlenberg for its strengths in several areas:

  • Rigorous student learning outcomes
  • Ongoing academic program evaluation
  • Strong fiscal management and governance
  • Clear mission and effective communication
  • Support for under-resourced students and commitment to economic diversity
  • Emphasis on transparency and shared governance

This success followed a multi-year self-study completed by faculty and staff across campus and a comprehensive site visit in spring 2025.
