Columbia University Engineering Dual Degree Program

Columbia University Engineering Dual Degree Program

Combine liberal arts study with a targeted focus on engineering for better career outcomes.

Muhlenberg College has a dual degree program in engineering and applied science with the engineering school at Columbia University. Typically, a student spends three years at Muhlenberg and two years at the engineering school, earning a B.S. from both institutions. Employers tend to look very favorably on students who graduate from these programs. Columbia’s engineering school reports that, in recent years, dual degree students have had better job opportunities — with higher starting salaries — than students who go directly through traditional engineering programs.

Students apply to the dual degree engineering program after they arrive at Muhlenberg. Though the application process happens during junior or senior year, the sooner a student is able to contact the program’s liaison officer, the better.
