Continuing Studies Transfer Students

Continuing Studies Transfer Students

Finish what you started. Bring your experience with you.

Adult learners arrive at Muhlenberg from a wide range of backgrounds — some have recent community-college experience, some return after years away from higher education, and others bring academic work from institutions across the country or even internationally. No matter your path, we’re here to help you move forward with confidence.

At the School of Continuing Studies, we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all transfer process. Instead, we take time to understand your goals, your previous learning and training, and the life experience you bring to the classroom.

How to Start the Transfer Process

The transfer process begins with a personalized advising conversation — the fastest way to understand how your previous learning can count toward your degree.

An advisor will walk you through your goals, degree options, and the most efficient path to completing your bachelor’s degree. Start early to maximize your transfer credits and financial options.

Students are often surprised by how much previous coursework can transfer. We’ll review your prior learning and map out how it applies to a Muhlenberg degree.

In addition to traditional transfer credits, you may earn credit for:

  • Military, healthcare or technical training
  • Standardized exams (CLEP, DANTES, AP)
  • Professional certifications
  • Noncredit learning, including corporate training, in-service seminars or volunteer work

Muhlenberg recognizes credit recommendations from ACE and National CCRS, giving adult learners more ways to turn experience into academic progress.

A dedicated financial aid officer will discuss FAFSA, state grants, scholarships, payment plans, and employer/military tuition benefits.

We also offer tuition deferment for students using employer or military reimbursement.

For international academic work, Muhlenberg partners with World Education Services (WES) to ensure accurate evaluation.

Community College Transfer Partnerships

Muhlenberg partners with community colleges around the region to help lessen the barrier for transferring. Below you’ll find our partnership institutions:
