Teaching Interests
I teach because I believe learning is most powerful when students feel seen, supported, and empowered to apply their ideas in real-world contexts. My teaching focuses on innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership, and experiential learning, helping students develop the confidence, skills, and mindset to move ideas from concept to action.
I am especially committed to inclusive, equity-centered teaching practices. I design learning environments that value reflection, collaboration, and multiple ways of knowing, and I continuously engage in self-reflection to ensure my teaching remains responsive and accessible. Drawing on my expertise in hybrid and online learning, educational technologies, and learning management systems, I create dynamic courses that emphasize engagement, creativity, and practical application.
Research and Scholarship
I am interested in scholarship that explores belonging, leadership, and innovation in higher education, particularly how institutional cultures shape confidence, identity, and opportunity for underrepresented students. My doctoral research, Belonging Through Other Mothering, examined how Black female college students experience care, mentorship, and systemic barriers at predominantly white institutions, and it continues to inform my work in leadership development and organizational design.
I also explore the intersection of neuroscience, creativity, and entrepreneurship, with a focus on neurodiversity, adult learning, and the cognitive foundations of innovation and confidence. Creatively and professionally, I consult, mentor, and develop empowerment-focused tools through my work with U You R Are Your Own CEO (UROCEO), helping individuals and organizations identify strengths, clarify vision, and translate ideas into meaningful action. This work bridges scholarship and practice and reinforces my commitment to developing confident, reflective, and purpose-driven leaders.

I am actively involved in mentoring students in their research endeavors, guiding them through the process of formulating research questions, conducting studies, and presenting their findings.
My involvement extends to collaborating on conference presentations, where I support students in sharing their work with broader academic communities. This collaboration is not only intellectually stimulating but also serves as a platform for showcasing the innovative research conducted by emerging scholars and fostering a culture of academic exchange and growth.
