Pre-Health
Preparing you for an impactful career in health and medicine
The Office of Health Professions Advising works with faculty advisors to build customized academic plans that address the specific goals of students pursuing a career in health and medicine. We work to advance the quality of the undergraduate preprofessional student’s lifelong learning process.
Through self-assessment workshops, research opportunities, experiential learning, competency development and extensive preparation for the professional school application process, prehealth students are challenged to discover and define their individual career goals.

Muhlenberg pre-health students gain essential, graduate-level research experience through faculty-supported lab work or independent research. Students present findings at conferences and publish the results of their work alongside their faculty collaborators.
The Health Professions Advising office coordinates clinical shadowing opportunities for students to provide real-world experience and knowledge that can also aid in admission to competitive health profession programs. The office also helps place students in internships within medical fields of their choice, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and dentistry.
A college partnership with St. Luke's University Health Network provides 12 students access each year to the Pre-Med and Physician Assistant Observer Program, where students spend at least 60 hours rotating through six different departments in the hospital. Students keep journals of the experience, meet with faculty regularly to discuss what they encounter and receive college credit for the intensive experiential opportunity.
Powerful Outcomes
A Muhlenberg education sets you up for success. The liberal arts will hone your ability to think critically, communicate, and problem-solve, skills that are in high demand across all employment sectors.

When I came [to Muhlenberg], I was on a mission. Sure, I'm going to enjoy my time on campus, but I also know I'm here for an education. My parents have sacrificed a lot for me to even have this opportunity. I don't see being first-gen as a liability or anything — I see it as motivation.READ NIARE'S STORY
