Military and Veteran Education Benefits

Your service matters. We're here to make sure your degree does, too.

Muhlenberg College is honored to support active-duty service members, veterans, reservists, and military-affiliated families as they achieve the next milestone in life and work. Whether you’re returning to school, advancing your career, or completing a degree you started earlier, our programs and policies are built with your unique needs in mind.

You’ll be supported by advisors who understand the reality of balancing service, family, and education. You’ll gain a network that believes in your potential. And you’ll have access to financial benefits — including the Yellow Ribbon Program and a tuition scholarship for military-affiliated students — that makes the next step in your education more attainable than ever.

Using Your Military Education Benefits

Muhlenberg participates in multiple programs that help military-connected students pay for college, including the Post-9/11 GI Bill®, the Yellow Ribbon Program, and a range of scholarships for service members and their families.

If you have questions about your VA education benefits, our Veterans Certifying School Official in the Registrar’s Office can help: 484-664-3190

College Financing Plan

All admitted military-affiliated students receive a College Financing Plan, a standardized federal form that outlines:

  • Estimated Cost of Attendance (COA)
  • Your VA benefits
  • Grants, loans, and other financial aid awarded
  • Estimated net cost after aid

This tool makes it easy to compare your options and plan ahead.

Yellow Ribbon Program Benefits

Muhlenberg College proudly participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program, helping eligible Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients reduce or eliminate out-of-pocket tuition costs. If you qualify for the maximum Post-9/11 benefit rate, the Yellow Ribbon Program allows Muhlenberg and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to share the remaining cost of tuition — not covered by the GI Bill — so you can pursue your degree with confidence.

What You Need to Know

  • Available to students eligible for the 100% Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefit
  • Muhlenberg contributes a Yellow Ribbon award, and the VA matches it
  • Awards are offered on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Benefits can significantly reduce, and often fully cover, your tuition
  • Students must remain in good academic standing to renew the benefit

To determine your eligibility, apply through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Once you receive your Certificate of Eligibility, submit it to Muhlenberg’s School Certifying Official for processing and next steps.

GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More information about VA education benefits is available at va.gov/education.
