Financial Aid for Transfer Students

Explore Muhlenberg College’s financial aid options for transfer students, with information on need-based grants, scholarships, loans, and tuition payments.

Transferring to Muhlenberg means joining a community that’s committed to helping you continue your education affordably. Transfer students are eligible for many of the same scholarships, grants, and aid opportunities as first-year students.

Types of Aid Available

Transfer students may qualify for:

Need-Based Aid

Your need-based aid qualification will be determined through your FAFSA.

Federal and State Grants and Loans

These aid options include Pell Grants, Pennsylvania State Grants (for eligible students), and federal direct loans.

Merit Scholarships

Any scholarships will be based on prior academic achievement and the strength of your application. We’ll review your high school transcript, SAT/ACT scores (optional), and any classes completed at another institution.

Talent Scholarships

Transfer students may apply for Muhlenberg’s talent scholarships, which can range from $1,000 to $2,000 and are offered for theatre, dance, film, art, and music. These are available  to arts majors and non-majors on the basis of an audition or portfolio review. 

Talent scholarship deadlines for transfer students are as follows:

  • Fall admission: May 1
  • Spring admission: December 1
