Welcome to Muhlenberg
Here, you achieve. Here, you belong.
Muhlenberg offers a rigorous liberal arts education and a growing array of graduate, adult, and preprofessional offerings. Our location, in Pennsylvania’s third-largest city and a thriving region, gives students access to robust opportunities for internships, community engagement, and hands-on learning.
Our History
Founded in 1848 as Allentown Seminary, our institution was renamed Muhlenberg College in 1867. That’s when we began providing a challenging liberal arts education committed to the highest standards of academic integrity and excellence.
Our Traditions
From the candle-lighting ceremonies that bookend each student’s Muhlenberg experience to annual events like A Cappella Fest, Greek Week, and Jefferson Field Day, our traditions connect Mules from one generation to the next.
Our Mission and Values
Muhlenberg’s roots and ethos are apparent not only in our red doors — meant to signify welcome and hospitality — but in everything we do and stand for.
Our Vibrant Present
Muhlenberg blends challenging academics and hands-on experiences with personalized support, a combination that enables our students to achieve more than they ever imagined possible.
The Muhlenberg Experience
