Muhlenberg College offers a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Certificate.
This program will develop leaders who ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion values become fundamentally woven into an organizational culture to foster a just and equitable environment for all.
The DEI certificate can be completed in just one year and consists of five eight-week modules and a culminating experience. Each eight-week module pairs two four-week “mini-courses” linking theory to practice. Each course is designed for online virtual learning through a combination of asynchronous and synchronous learning activities, with one on-campus symposium during the fall and spring semester. The modules are broken down into a pairing of four-week mini-courses that work together to combine theory and practice in an immersive classroom and real-world setting.

- Connecting, Belonging and Valuing Relationships: Develop a network of committed equity-minded professionals by creating spaces where people can come together to take risks, engage meaningfully, empower one another, and strategize to act.
- Promoting Liberal Arts and Multidisciplinary Approach: Balance hands-on, community-oriented experiences with a liberal arts vision that orients students to systemic, cultural, and historical contexts of racism and discrimination.
- Partnering with Community: Foster connections to learn from and with local leaders to develop a deeper understanding of and appreciation for the longstanding efforts to create more equitable and inclusive organizations and communities.
- Experience and Action: Recognize and value the richness of perspective and lived experiences of GCE students and incorporate relevant and pragmatic learning opportunities that lead to action-oriented outcomes for a more just and equitable community and workforce.
