This summer, Kabir Burman ’27, a political science and media and communication double major from Bangalore, India, had a public relations internship with the local arts nonprofit ArtsQuest.
One of his responsibilities was working at Musikfest, the largest free music festival in the United States. See him in action at Musikfest here:
“Kabir was a wonderful intern, a true go-getter in every sense of the word,” said his supervisor, ArtsQuest Communications Manager Tehani Boyer. “In addition to his responsibilities and deliverables for the PR/communications team at ArtsQuest, he took initiative in working directly with the social media and marketing team on graphics work, a video interview series, and ticket giveaways for Musikfest, and shared several ideas that demonstrated his out of the box thinking. He is a terrific creative writer and storyteller, and the profiles he wrote all showcased the best of his subjects and included details that demonstrated a mature writing style.”
Burman’s internship was part of Muhlenberg’s Baker Arts Community Intern Program, in honor of Charles Richter and Curtis Dretsch, and funded by a grant from the Dexter F. & Dorothy H. Baker Foundation. Burman was one of five Muhlenberg students working this summer with arts organizations throughout the Lehigh Valley.
