Muhlenberg College / Villanova University M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing
Through an affiliation agreement with the Villanova University M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing, Muhlenberg students can seamlessly transition to Villanova’s Second Degree Accelerated BSN Program for College Graduates, which is approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. This partnership presents a clear and direct path to the nursing profession, and new opportunities for students seeking careers in healthcare.
Muhlenberg students can pursue either the full-time, 14-month Express Degree Program or the 23-month Flex Degree Program. Both incorporate all of the standard components of Villanova’s nursing program in a concentrated timeframe. In order to be accepted into the program students must first successfully complete their four-year undergraduate degree at Muhlenberg, as well as the prerequisite courses (or equivalencies) and admission requirements for the Villanova BSN program before entering. Villanova has agreed to accept at least 5 Muhlenberg students each year.
Admissions Requirements
- The applicant must complete all prerequisite course requirements with a grade of C or better for each course.
- The applicant must have earned a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 through the end of the undergraduate semester at Muhlenberg prior to making an application to Villanova.
- The applicant must submit a current, true, and compliant application to the College of Nursing through its website no later than October and after completion of the applicant’s junior year at Muhlenberg, including, without limitation, reporting of any criminal or disciplinary matters.
- The final decision on admission to the Second Degree Accelerated BSN track will be made by the College of Nursing Admissions Committee after the formal interview is complete and all application materials have been reviewed. Acceptances are provisional pending completion of prerequisite courses and maintaining a 3.0 GPA. In the event an accepted student does not maintain good academic (e.g., GPA, fulfill required course prerequisites) and disciplinary standing at Muhlenberg prior to matriculation to Villanova, the student will forfeit their acceptance.
- The final decision for all applicants will be made no later than December of the academic year in which the completed application is submitted for admission of the term beginning in May.
