Welcome to the
Institute for Jewish-Christian Understanding
In the first century, Judaism and Christianity split into separate and often antagonistic communities. This produced misunderstandings that have lasted for centuries. In the past 50 years, however, a new age of dialogue has dawned, and much research has been done to overcome these misunderstandings.
Muhlenberg College has established the Institute for Jewish-Christian Understanding as an expression of its commitment to interfaith relations. The IJCU uses the resources of the academic community to foster such research and dialogue and to build bridges of understanding between the faith traditions.
