Alumni Actors Return To 'Berg For Performance

Members of professional comedy troupe Uninvited Guests will return to Muhlenberg College to produce "Waiting for Godot," a play by Samuel Beckett.

Members of professional comedy troupe Uninvited Guests will return to Muhlenberg College to produce "Waiting for Godot," a play by Samuel Beckett. The performance will run August 24 at 8 p.m., August 25 at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., and August 26-27 at 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. in the Experimental Theatre in the Trexler Pavilion for Theatre and Dance, Muhlenberg College. Tickets are not required, but a $5 donation is suggested at the door.

"Waiting for Godot" is a collaborative effort between the Uninvited Guests and Devon Allen, artistic director of Our Shoes Are Red: a theatre laboratory at Muhlenberg College. Allen is Artist-in-Residence and teacher of acting at Muhlenberg.

Featured in "Waiting for Godot" will be actors Ian Alderman '00, Ken Baldino '00, Ryan Gardner '01, and Ruben Ortiz '00. Alderman, who acted in the 2000-01 Acting Company of the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, has acted with the Prop Theatre of Chicago and has studied at the Second City Conservatory in Chicago. Baldino has acted with the Cincinnati Ensemble Theatre and the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre.

Since graduating from Muhlenberg, Gardner has been seen in Muhlenberg Summer Theatre performances and has acted at the Martha's Vineyard Playhouse and the Red Moon Theatre in Chicago. Ortiz, a graduate of Allen High School in Allentown, Pa., was seen in a national tour of "The Maidens Consent" with Biggs/Rossotti Production with the National Theatre for the Arts. He is currently dancing in "Wet Blue," a Clare Byrne Dance Production, in New York City. Also featured in "Waiting for Godot" will be Joe Harrell-Tisdale, who attends the Abington Friends School.

Set designers Matt Allar, Joshua Hinden and Carly Mendelssohn are all members of the Class of 2000 at Muhlenberg College.
