ANNUAL ASIAN CULTURAL FESTIVAL AT MUHLENBERG

This spring, Muhlenberg College sponsors the 2nd annual Asian Cultural Festival.

This spring, Muhlenberg College sponsors the 2nd annual Asian Cultural Festival. All events are free and open to the public as follows:

  • Monday, March 18, Recital Hall, 7 p.m.: Roland Joff's drama "Killing Fields"
    The film recounts the true story of New York Times journalist Sidney Schanberg (played by Sam Waterson) and Cambodian journalist and translator Dith Pran (Haing S. Ngor), who found themselves trapped in the nightmare of the Khmer Rouge revolution in Cambodia.
  • Tuesday, March 19, Miller Forum, 7 p.m.: Dith Pran lecture
    Dith Pran will speak about "Killing Fields." The lecture will be followed by a reception in the Mendham Gallery.
  • Monday, March 25, Seegers Union 108-110, 7 p.m: Calligraphy and Painting workshop
    A hands-on workshop offered by the New York Chinese Cultural Center
  • Sunday, April 7, Memorial Hall, 4-5:15: Aikido demonstration
    The Kinokawa Aikido Club, including Dr. James Jackson, a Muhlenberg psychology professor, will demonstrate Aikido, a Japanese martial art.
  • Monday, April 8, Recital Hall, 7 p.m.: Contemporary Buddhism lecture
    A lecture by Buddhist practitioners with Korean and American roots
  • Wednesday, April 10, Dance Studio, Trexler Pavilion, 7 p.m.: Dance performance
    Parul Shah and Co. will perform North Indian Kathak Dance with live music.
  • Monday, April 15, Miller Forum, 7:30 p.m.: QiGong Master Lecture and Demonstration
    Master Duan, a 98-year old Chinese QiGong Master, will present a lecture and demonstration.
  • Tuesday, April 16, Recital Hall, 7:30 p.m.: "Night of Cultural Diversity"
    Sponsored by the International Students Association, the "Night of Cultural Diversity" is the annual performance featuring multicultural talents from around campus.
  • Tuesday, April 23, Band Room, Center for the Arts, 5:30 p.m.: Hindustani Music Workshop
    Shafaatullah Khan will lead this music workshop.
