Muhlenberg IJCU Holds First Friday Event

The Institute for Jewish-Christian Understanding of Muhlenberg College presents the next discussion in the First Friday, Fall 2002 series on Friday, November 1. Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellow Barbara Gottschalk will join the discussion. Gottschalk is the vice president of Seeds of Peace, a camp and experimental living environment that seeks to unite children from countries torn by war and violence. Originally formed to work with youth from Palestine and Israel, this organization has expanded to include children from many countries, including India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Since 1993, over 2,000 teens from 22 nations have graduated from Seeds of Peace. Gottschalk, who aided in the initiation and formation of the organization's mission and operation, has interests in peace studies, conflict resolution, advocacy work for people with disabilities, children and violence, and more.
You may bring your lunch or buy your lunch in Seegers Union, and drinks will be available for purchase in the room. Gottschalk's public lecture, "Preparing the Next Generation of Leaders for Peace," will take place on Wednesday, October 30 at 7:30 in the Lithgow Science Auditorium, Trumbower Hall.
