MUHLENBERG'S MARTIN ART GALLERY TO OFFER SPRING LECTURES

The Martin Art Gallery at Muhlenberg College will offer two free lectures this spring. The lectures are open to the public and are held in conjunction with "Seymour Lipton: Post-War America in Three Dimensions," exhibited in the Gallery through April 12, 2002.

The Martin Art Gallery at Muhlenberg College will offer two free lectures this spring. The lectures are open to the public and are held in conjunction with "Seymour Lipton: Post-War America in Three Dimensions," exhibited in the Gallery through April 12, 2002.

On Thursday, March 21, at 4 p.m., Lori Verderame, Ph.D., will present a multi-media lecture titled "Seymour Lipton and the Themes of Abstract Expressionism." Verderame, director of the Martin Art Gallery, is the curator of the exhibition and author of "An American Sculptor: Seymour Lipton."

Larry Shiner, Ph.D., will present "Art and Philosophy," Thursday, April 4, at 4 p.m. Shiner is author of "The Invention of Art" and is a professor of philosophy at the University of Illinois. His lecture will focus on his current research regarding modernism.
