Richard P. Romeo, a 1979 graduate of Muhlenberg College, has been named national chair of the Muhlenberg Fund.

Romeo is an attorney and partner with Salon, Marrow, Dyckman & Newman, LLP, a general civil practice firm specializing in business and commercial transactions and litigation. A member of the New York Bar Association, Romeo holds a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and has served as a trustee of Muhlenberg College since 1999. He served as Chair of the Henry Melchior Muhlenberg Society, the organization that recognizes the College's top level of donors, from 1998 to 2002. He and his wife Terri live in Mount Kisco, N.Y., where he serves as deputy mayor.

The Muhlenberg Fund, the College's annual giving program, consists of annual contributions from alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff and corporations. Support through the Muhlenberg Fund provides an indispensable portion of Muhlenberg's operating budget. The Muhlenberg Fund is expected to be an integral support component of Pride and Progress, a seven-year, $70 million capital campaign. Since the campaign began in October 2000, over $37 million has been raised. A large percentage of the funds raised are used for building projects and renovations, as well as for scholarships, financial aid and endowed professorships.
