Muhlenberg College's Martin Art Gallery will display works gifted from the personal collection of Harriet and Don Rothfeld '59. The exhibition, "A Passion for Collecting: Selections from the Rothfeld Gift of Contemporary Art," will begin November 6 with an opening reception from 4-7 p.m. The exhibition will run through December 15. Gallery hours are Wednesday - Saturday, 12 noon - 9 p.m. Admission to the gallery and reception is free.

"A Passion for Collecting" contains pieces by Alexander Liberman, Ford Crull, Franco Kappl, Charles Hewitt, David Rankin and others. The Rothfelds, who are inquisitive about the process of making art and the ideas surrounding it, have been collecting art for more than 30 years and, for the past several years, have gifted selections to the College. "We are delighted to share our enthusiasm for contemporary art with the students and faculty of Muhlenberg College and the supporters of the Martin Art Gallery," said Dr. and Mrs. Rothfeld.

The works on display in this exhibition represent only a portion of the works of art gifted to the College by Don and Harriet Rothfeld since 1996. The exhibition is supported by the Friends of the Martin Art Gallery and the office of alumni relations.
